Anne has a lifelong passion for fine jewelry, which led to both her Graduate Gemologist Certification (GG) and her Accredited Jewelry Professional (AJP) Certification through the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).
Anne's background in jewelry appraising sets her apart from other jewelry professionals. She completed New York University's Appraisal Studies Certificate Program with a focus in jewelry, and earned her Certificate of Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). She is a member of the Appraisers Association of America (AAA) and sat on their Steering Committee from 2015 to 2017. Anne graduated from the University of Vermont in 2012, earning her B.A. in Art History.
In 2017, Anne launched her own jewelry line, Annie James, whose mission is to promote thyroid cancer awareness - she is a survivor. Annie James has partnered with CancerCare, a non-profit organization, donating 20% of the profits from each necklace to a special thyroid cancer fund, helping qualified patients with the cost of their long term medical treatment. Since partnering with CancerCare, she was asked to join their Young Professionals Committee, serving as treasurer. The committee aims to raise funds and awareness for the organization.
Anne currently works as a jewelry specialist at Phillips Auctioneers. Previously, she worked at Harry Winston as a specialist in quality control.
